Does anyone have any information on this name? I have found from various sources:Maya ~ from the ancient peoples inhabiting modern-day Mexico

"Maya" doesnt mean mother in greek, "Mana" means mother

"Mayim" means "waters" in Hebrew (plural), and Maya is also a common Hebrew name.

However Maia does mean "midwife" in Greek, which is mother-related :)

being indian...The only Maya i know of is Hindi/Snaskrit meaning Magic.Then again, i am Indian (as in, from India).I actually know an Indian girl, about 7, named Maya (MIE-ah)
