Re: O.K! I'll rephrase...
...Yes, maybe pointless in asking meaning, but as there
are other "VANECIA'S" in existence, surely there is
another origin of the name other than "Venice".
By saying my Grandmother wasn't interested or thinking of
Venice when naming my Mother, I'm very certain that maybe
she liked the sound of what the combination of both names
made.I just thought that for there to be a few other people named
"Vanecia" in America and this being a Worldwide message board
that I would receive more satisfaction in my query because
anyone could just pass the name off as coming from Venice. As for the example I previously gave my Mother didn't search
through name or history books to find my name it was the
name of a character in a novel that she was reading while
she was pregnant with me. It was not until years later that
she found out the historical significance and that the way
my name was spelt was the direct translation from the Persian. So I suppose that I'll just have to be satisfied with my Mother's
name meaning a cross between the 2 names that my Grandmother used
and I'll never accept that my Grandmother was thinking the name
sounded like Venetia when the pronounciation is on the "VAN" as in
Vaneecia and not "VEN" like all participants of this board seem to think.Maybe someone who knows something of the origin of this name will
respond to this one day because I'm sure that other "Vanecia's"
of this World would not accept the cop out that I've been receiving. This is not the first or last place that I have been looking for any other information about this name.Roxane.
