Do you have any idea where your parents found this name? When and where were you born, and what was the ethnic background of your family?

My grandmothers name was Saleta. The family story goes. She was named for her mother's mother, Sallie. However her mother wanted to change it up and simply altered the name. I have found no other source for the name.

Hi,

I am the fifth Saleta Jane in my family so the name was picked after my mother. I was born in 1965 in Alabama, caucasian. I have researched name as far back as 1820, all my family is from NC/TN, immigrated from Scotland and Ireland.
