Before I knew a lot about names, I used to "know" that Ellen meant "light", and that therefore my full name, Christine Ellen, meant Christian Light. I've gone back and forth in my religious beliefs, but at least some of the time I thought it was pretty appropriate.

These days, of course, it's Christian St Elmo's Fire or Christian Torch or Christian Moon, or possibly something else as yet undiscovered.

My whole name means Christian - St Elmo's Fire - Wood Home (or variants . . . I like St Elmo's Fire as a meaning!).
