I have traced my dad's side back to my great-great grandparents, born in the 1870's, and my great-great grandmother's name was Donie. How is this name pronounced?

Also, does anyone one know anything about the name Donie? I don't think it's short for anything because "Donie ____" is written on the gravestone.
