I was trying to find a clip on youtube but drew a blank, and god I never realised how bad (in terms of getting any of the facts right) that film was. I could go on a minor rant but not the place lol.
There's a lot of confusion over Murron and Mirren. On this site Murron is given as an anglicisation of the Gaelic name Muireann, whereas Mirren is a Scottish pet form of Marion. Wallace's wife was actually called Marion Braidfoot. Apparently the film changed it to Murron to avoid her being mistaken for Maid Marion. There's not much evidence of her, so who knows whether she was really known as Murron and who knows what way she would have spelled it if she was, lol
