Lonneke?
This model's name is Lonneke Engel. She is Dutch. If anyone has information on her name, I'd love to hear it. How is it pronounced? And what names do you think it's related to? I was thinking possibly Leon... but I really haven't a clue.Thanks.

it's pronounced LOH-nuh-kuh
It's derived from Apollonius

In Denmark, LONE can be short for ABELONE (Apollonia) or MAGDALONE (Magdalene). LONNE might be a variant of LONE. I don't know whether "-ke" is used as a diminutive ending in Denmark, it looks rather Dutch (as you say) or Frisian. But this is no more than a wild construct. I'm sure, Menke has better ideas.

Probably Ilona. The -eke ending is a diminutive. I can't see how it could be from Leon, a male name, but it's a weird old world in places.
