Elvira
Does anyone have any idea why Elvira jumped in popularity in Sweden and Norway? Thanks!I just googled and found info about Elvira Nikolaisen. However, in Sweden the name started going up much sooner..."In 2006 Elvira became one of Norway’s most popular artists, selling 60,000 copies of her debut album “Quiet Exit”, nationwide touring and three A listed tracks at radio. Perhaps the peak of success that year was her duet with Bjørn Eidsvåg “Floden” which topped the charts that Autumn. The follow up “Indian Summer” was also received favourably as was the single ”The One You Cannot Keep” not least in terms of airplay."

It was last popular here (in Sweden) around 1870-1920, and since it didn't just suddenly jump but has steadily increased since the 80's, I think it was just ready for a comeback. It's possible that there was a particular inspiration, but I can't think of any.
