For the Indian Rina, even though the meaning given there could be correct (from a root rI, to set free, melt, or dissolve) I strongly suspect the Indian name to have its origins in the British name instead.

Sorry, meant Dutch not British ... (actually, meant European, easy to get confused about all those colonial powers :-)
