ASIMENIA
I came across this name in Germany, but it is certainly not German. It seems to be known of in Greece, but I haven't been able to find it's meaning / origin / history.
Any help appreciated.

It could be related to the Greek name Asimina, which means "silver".

Thank you for the hint! Have you found this site reliable? The name fairy thing seems a little fishy…

Ah, yes, the ever reliable name fairy. :)
Otherwise I have found the site to be very accurate with name etymologies, histories, etc. Though sometimes their pronunciation guides aren't very clear.I think one of the nicknames listed for Asimina, "Asimw", may be a typo.
