Saro
I'm wondering if anyone has any info on the female name Saro. The context I heard it in was in the American bluegrass song Saro Jane. The easiest leap I could make was that it's a variation of Sara/Sarah. Does that seem accurate enough or does anyone know of it having a different history?Thank you!

I did a quick search and found this:http://bewitchingnames.blogspot.com/2012/07/saro.htmlI can see how that it is, cause they've got quite a unique accent in the Appalachians so it may be a phonetically derived version of the name, like how Tayla (Taylor) and its ilk are getting popular in Australia, etc

Thanks! I don't know anything about Appalachian accents myself, but the concept of a regional pronunciation is pretty much what I was thinking of too. :-)
