Amerigo Vespucci
There are several possible sources listed on the web page, but Szent Imre of Hungary is the actual source. There is a church near Florence, the birthplace of Amergo. The main altar of the Settignano St, Martino a Mensola chapel, near Florence, has an Altar painting. On it can be seen a man, holding a white lily, the symbol of virginity, representing Amerigo D'Ungueria, painted in 1391. The inscription at the bottom of the picture in its entirety:
:SCO:GUILIANO:SCO:AMERIGHO:D'UNGHERIA:MCCCLXXXXI:OTTOBRE.
The photo of the painting can be found at the end of a Hungarian article I wrote at http://www.eucharisztikuskongresszus.hu/BS_hit_22.htmlHope you can use this information.
