According to online dictionaries, the Turkish word aşkın means over, beyond, exceeding, excessive, transcendent. But, it is also the genitive of a word meaning hanger, and possibly more relevantly of an aşk meaning love that is derived from Arabic عشق.

In context though it's more likely the Anglo-Norman name Askin "or Asketin, a pet form of Asketill … which is of Old Norse origin". The latter combines "As", god + ketill "kettle" (i.e. cauldron, pot), both a sacred, sacrificial utensil and a euphemism for "helmet".
