Let's collect popularity statistics for countries not represented on this page, please help :)
I thought maybe we could collect popularity statistics because you can't find all of them on this site.I would be really interested in statistics from the following countries (preferably top 100 or more, not just top 10 or 20):Greece
Israel
Kazakhstan
Russia
Romania (this site just has 2009)
Republic of Moldova
Ukraine
Japan
BelarusWhich ones are you looking for? Maybe we can help each other.

Israel - the (near-)full name data that is being circulated on the internet is split into four groups: Jewish, Muslim, Christian and Druze. The link to the 2016 data is here (though without the names of Druze): https://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-5113509,00.html (the same website should also have the 2015 data on one of the earlier articles, names of Druze included in this instance).Romania - I actually shared the site that has that top 50 to Mike, it only has 2009 since, at that time, I can only find data for that year which goes beyond the top 10 names which is the case for other years.Ukraine - though I am not aware of any data regarding top 50, 100+ names in Ukraine as a whole, there is full name data for the Lviv Oblast, which you can find here: http://database.ukrcensus.gov.ua/dw_name/main.aspJapan - this is a long one, so bear with me - the only name data from that country that also takes into account the sound and not just how popular a particular writing is is in the form of surveys done by a couple of companies: Benesse/Tamahiyo (https://st.benesse.ne.jp/ninshin/name/2017/), Meiji Yasuda Life (https://www.meijiyasuda.co.jp/enjoy/ranking/) and Baby Calendar (formerly Cookpad Baby) (https://baby-calendar.jp/special/name/2017/ - shared by SugarPlumFairy on a Facts thread regarding Akane). Of course, I do my own research into names from the Heisei Period, the period Japan is in right now until the Emperor abdicates in April of next year, through sites like http://namaejiten.com/ (which only list the writings and not the sound but I do try to work around a fairly accurate popularity data by sound) and through town/city public relations magazines that are available online (though some do not list gender).

Thank you! I really wish I could read Japanese or Hebrew. I can only read the Ukrainian lists. I once found a top 100 for Russia but I haven't been able to locate the site again. It was a Russian site, maybe you know where I can find it?

The only top 100 list that I can find is actually the 100 most common names for all ages, regardless of gender, and seeing as if this site doesn't have a 'most common names' list of any kind as of yet, I don't feel like recommending that site to you. That said, I do have a couple of region/city-specific lists to share:1. http://names.mercator.ru/ (most popular Muscovite names throughout the years, found this out via Nancy's Baby Names)
2. https://data.mos.ru/opendata/7704111479-svedeniya-o-naibolee-populyarnyh-mujskih-imenah-sredi-novorojdennyh (more recent month-by-month statistics for Moscow, shared by Clare's Name News)
3. https://www.opendata71.ru/opendata/?q=%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%B5%D0%BD (there are top 100 names lists for the Tula Oblast, which, given the country's size, is not that far off from Moscow)

https://www.parent24.com/Pregnant/Baby-names/south-africas-official-most-popular-baby-name-has-been-revealed-20180827 gives the top 10 male and female names for 2017. It also supplies the meanings, as most of the names are from local languages. And, for surname fanciers, the top 10 of them are given as well. These stats have only recently been made available: I think last year was the first, but maybe not. I find that very encouraging.

Some lists I found: ISRAEL, IRELAND, FRANCE, UK, MOLDOVA, GERMANYSome of the lists I found. Still looking for all in the original post.ISRAEL 2015-2016 (Jewish girls only):https://bloodandfrogs.com/2018/04/101-most-popular-jewish-girls-names-in-israel-in-2016.htmlIRELAND 1964-2017 (girls and boys): THANK YOU to m4yb3_daijirou who linked the list in another thread belowhttps://www.cso.ie/en/interactivezone/visualisationtools/babynamesofireland/FRANCE 1900-2017 (girls and boys): the French statistics are also on this site here but the site below also lets you see the most popular names by decade and popular names from a newspaper (where posh people post births, so you can see what is popular among them):http://www.meilleursprenoms.com/prenoms_tendances/tendances_intro.htmlUK 1850-2015: they also have lists of combined spellings, hyphenated names etc. Really great site overall!http://www.britishbabynames.com/GERMANY 1890-2017:https://www.beliebte-vornamen.de/jahrgangMOLDOVA (unfortunately just the top 100 for both genders and of all times, not per birth year):http://nume.casata.md/index.php?l=ro&action=viewtop100prenume

I have some of them on my site: city of Moscow in Russia, Japan, Moldova, and some more years for Romania:
http://www.babynames.ch/Info/SeriesListIsrael seems to publish only statistics for the various ethnic groups, which make them pretty uninteresting for me personally.Despite searching several times and quite extensively, I never found something useful for Greece.

Thank you! I actually know and love your site :) I wish there were top 100 lists available for all countries, but I guess they are hard to find. It is odd to me how there is a 2009 Romanian top 50 but not for the other years :( I wish they would give us longer lists. I will reply later again and add the lists that I was able to find.
