A name that sounds kind of like "shah-rom" or "sher-ome"
I was talking to someone from Iran recently and she mentioned one of her family members, whose name I thought sounded interesting...it was like Jerome but with a SH sound instead of a J sound...or it might have been closer to sha-rom, with a short o, IDK.What would you guess the spelling and origin or meaning of that would be?

The spelling is probably Shahram. The name is in the submitted names part of this site, but the additional information given there might be unreliable (it does not list a Persian dictionary word for the second part of the name).

Or Sharam. I work with two different (male) Sharam's, both with this spelling.

The farsi spelling is probably شهرامI do not know the etymology.
