Meaning & History
Diminutive of MINERVA.I loved this meaning rather than original Turkish one but I'm confused.1. Minerva is Etruscan origin, so how can it be Spanish? Does any Spanish person uses this name?
2. If it's Spanish, is it pronounce as like Turkish one? Many thanks!

The short form "Mine" is what the entry is calling "Spanish". That's a pet form of Minerva in Spanish-speaking countries, but Minerva itself is used in many different countries. Its ultimate origin is Etruscan, but it is used in Spain and many other countries in Europe and Latin America.Minerva is definitely in use in Spain today, which one can find by using an internet search engine. As just one example, here is a webpage for a professor whose given name is Minerva who teaches at a university in Spain:https://investigacion.unirioja.es/investigadores/327/detalle

I check the link and it said; "mee-nehr-vah" on Minerva.Probably "Mine" is pronounced as "mee-meh" as like Turkish one.
