Medwin?
I've wondered about her name, too. The closest I've found is Medwin, a masculine name of Old German origin, meaning "strong friend". (According to TheBump.com) Could Midwin be related to that?

I wonder if it could be related to Modwen / Modwenna, an obscure saint? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modwenna
I am only familiar with her because there’s a planning company called St Modwen around here, but she’s not completely unknown.
