Odessa- possible name origin
I found some articles which propose a likely origin for Odessa. It was named for a Greek settlement called Odessos, which most likely means "town upon the water" in a pre-Greek language such as Pelasgian. Is this enough to post this as the meaning on the place name entry and/or the first name entry?https://books.google.com/books?id=8a4_DwAAQBAJ&pg=PA251&lpg=PA251&dq=odessos+place+name+meaning&source=bl&ots=-t_9CZTbZ0&sig=ACfU3U1xWqvQQqTCWWImn7mC0JcZBVfC6A&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjusIqK_efxAhVFZN8KHUthDlgQ6AEwCHoECBIQAw#v=onepage&q=odessos%20place%20name%20meaning&f=false (page 251, footnote 63)https://greeknewsagenda.gr/topics/culture-society/7185-international-city-names-of-greek-originhttps://europost.eu/en/a/view/Ancient-Odessoshttp://www.olkas.net/lemmata/38_Varna
