What does the name Leonisa mean?

There also is a French form, Léonise (https://www.behindthename.com/name/le10onise/submitted).According to a French website, Léonise means "bold in battle"; however, this seems unlikely, as I couldn't find any similar name elements. So this is most likely a feminine form of Leon or its forms, since there are a lot of them (Leona, Leoncia, Leonarda, Léonide, Leonia, Leontina, Léonine...).

Like the lingerie brand? Presumably an elaboration of Leon.

Indeed. It could also have been based on (or inspired by) the Italian word leonessa meaning "lioness":https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/leonessa#Italian (in English)

Hi Lucille!!!I agree.
In Italian lioness is leonessa, in Spanish is leona, in Portuguese leoa and in French lionne. The Italian form is similar to Leonisa.
