Dewey 1898?
Does anyone know why the name Dewey had such a massive spike in popularity in 1898? It's only that one year too!

Just a guess, but the Battle of Manila Bay, during which US forces were lead by Commodore George Dewey, took place in May 1898. It was a decisive US victory, with only one American man lost, and Dewey became something of a war hero. Maybe a lot of babies were named after him?
