To get the right pronounciation, it would have to be spelt Ronia or Ronya in English. Maybe Mike C could put up this name? Astrid Lindgren invented the name from a river.

The river is called something like JuRONJAurenkote (a Lappish name) in the far north of Sweden. Presumably b/c she found the scenery among the mountains beautiful.I think Ronja may appear in other languages also, then having another meaning. As a Russian nn for Veronica , for instance?

True butCarrie spelt the name she had in mind with a "j" and since Astrid Lindgren seems to do the same I found the parallel would be more striking if I used a "j" too.
