I have never heard of my name before and don't have any information on it. I am female, if that helps. If anyone does please respond. It's pronounced sharerame. Thanks

She said that my fathers sister gave it to them. I also tell people she must have been on drugs!

Sounds like an invented name to me, Sherremy. Oh well, we'll just have to invent a plausible meaning for it then! :)
How about viewing your name as a feminine variation on the name "Jeremy" (meaning "Jehovah exhalts")? Maybe somebody else here can offer a few ideas for you.
Other than that, I'm afraid you'd have to ask your father's sister exactly what she must've been thinking at the time, in order to figure out where she might have gotten the idea of that name from.

I'll try the female verison of Jeremy. And I think I will ask my aunt about it too. It's interesting. Thanks for your help though. Most people do ask if my mom's name is Sherry and if my dad's name is Jeremy. If I find out I'll let you know.
