Message: "spelling" - Behind the Name

I want the Odyssey for a girls name but I don't want that spelling. Does anyone have any ideas?

Try "Odessa". Some modern-day (e.g. supermarket brand) baby name books define the name as meaning "long voyage", but if it's really an offshoot of the name "Odysseus " then I believe it means something closer to "hater".

Pavlos can confirm this, if it's true.
