Sons name "Jaeger"
I have a 15 month old boy that we named "Jaeger" and that we pronounce J-A-G G-E-R as in "mick jagger" to use an example. We named are baby this name because at the time I thought that it was a German name and I have a German ethnic background. My wife found this name on-line I never verified this I just took her word for it but now I am finding out that it realy is not a german name but a german word that means "Hunter" from the reserch that I have done I know I should have took the time to look into this before are son was born but here I am with a son who my not have a real name although I do like the way it sounds further more I have done soom on-line searches and have not been able to find this name on any web pages I am afraid to evan bring this up with my wife but I think we made a mistake. If I have to how hard is it to change a name legaly if I had to. Please be honest with your reply. Danny

Danny,It's okay for a first name, but I don't like the "Jagger" pronunciation. Properly in German it's pronounced YAY-ger and I really think that sounds better as well as being less confusing to people. If "Hunter" can be a first name. I don't see why "Jaeger" can't, especially since it's consistent with your ethnic background.-- Da.
