Pavlos, you're in Greece, aren't you?
I took a college course called "Women in Antiquity." I learned that in ancient Greece, when women got pregnant out of wedlock, they would say that a god had impregnated them, so that instead of being looked at as a bastard, their child would be favored as a demi-god.And wasn't the New Testament written in Greek? Thanks,
Andrea

True on all accounts! Brilliant thinking :)
As a matter of fact, there are recorded cases of husbands boasting about how their wives were "honored" by gods within temples. The old "I-pretend-to-be-a-god-to-pork-one's-wife" trick :)

LOL! No, I didn't know about that trick! Don't think it would work now-a-days! Especially at my shul!:)
