[Opinions] Re: Dorothy
in reply to a message by Leona
I think Dorothy is cute. I wouldn't use it myself, I don't like it THAT much, but I can see it making a small comeback, and I like it a lot better than some other old-fashioned names popular right now, like Evelyn or Annabelle.I don't care for the nn Dottie, as I know a very rude and hateful old woman (much addicted to the tanning bed and short skirts) named Dottie. Dot is no better, and I have a friend who calls her period "my dot." lolDolly is cute, I had a teacher in high school, tragically killed in a car accident, named Dolly. She was one of the sweetest ladies I ever knew.Don't like Dodie. Had a hand-me-down doll, a "friend" of Barbie, named Dodie. Some aunt or cousin had chopped off most of her hair before I came along and she was very uglyl. lol
How about Dorrie or some variation of that? When I was little I liked these books about a little girl witch named Dorrie. They always started with "This is Dorrie. She is a witch; a little witch."
