Why worry about whether Alix looks like an "uneducated" version of Alex or that Rudolf is a reindeer? That you like a name and its history, meaning, etc. is what matters. I don't get why some people are so hung up on names like this when so many other people go out of their way to be "unique", using names like McJaydenleigh or whatever. Rudolf, Alix, and Annakiya are interesting, real names.

I'm sorry for you about Octy. That would be a pretty horrible suggestion, even if you hadn't initially rejected it. Thread hijack, but Tova, Vivi, Tia, Ava... all a bazillion times better than Octy.
