1. I'd pronounce it BAYZ-ul.
2. The other ways I've heard it pronounced are BAHZ-ul and Bah-SEEL.
3. It's okay, but not a personal favorite. As a Three Stooges fan, I can't help but think of the famous "Cousin Basil" scene in Brideless Groom when I hear the name.
