I like it a lot. I don't think it's 80s dated at all! When I hear it, I think of either Tara Lipinski (by all means a worthy namesake!) or Tara from "Gone With the Wind." I usually say TAA-rah, with the first syllable having the same vowel quality as "cat" or "had." TAW-rah makes me think of tar. Gross smell and unhealthy. =P
