I like it for a girl. It sounds similar to the girls name Meike (MY-keh) which is very common here so it has a very girly sound, in my opinion. I don't really like Meike but I do like Micah. The only Micah I know is a girl.
But it works well on a boy, of course, and it's nice that it honors your father.
