Though both Corinne and Émile thought that they were too busy to raise a family, they changed their minds after Émile's little sister, Amandine, a university student, became unexpectedly pregnant. Corinne and Émile decided to take a year's sabbatical and raise their niece, whom they named after Corinne's favorite character from mythology, her birth mother, and Émile. Though she does not yet have any distinctive personality traits, Cassie is a happy baby with bright blue eyes and light brown hair.
