I think it's pretty too. It seems to be quite a common name in the UK, with various spellings - I know an
Ayse, an Ayshea and an
Ayesha. I like both the eye-sha and ah-ee-sha pronunciations.
I haven't yet met one who wasn't Muslim / Turkish / of African background, but I don't see why it wouldn't work on a child from any background - it's pretty and easy to pronounce.
