I have a lovely cousin named
Gaye. She's such a nice lady that to me it seems like a really sweet and happy name, but she's also in her sixties, so I don't think she gets a lot of comments beyond 'that's unusual' - and I do think it would be a difficult name to have as a child now.
Gaynor might be a bit more usable. Gaëlle /
Gaelle is nice too.
