It's a sticky name. Makes me think of the obvious with pottery and modeling clay, but also Carolina clay which has a high iron content and stains everything it touches orange-y red. It also reminds of me of Clay Aiken.

The name itself is alright. I like it better than other Cl- names for boys, but not as much as other one syllable -ay names.
