I love it... except for the fact that I recently met someone by this name in the US, and with an American pronunciation, all I could hear was 'Murica! F yeah.'

With the German or Central European pronunciation, it's lovely. I also like the Japanese Mariko. One of my cousins has it as their middle name and I've always appreciated it.
