I remember this was my junior high school friend's favourite name. Ahh, good memories. I was so disappointed when I heard she named her daughter "Caydance" instead of Zipporah....
I really like this name. It's fun, how can you not like the Zip in Zipporah? Zippy is all right as a nickname; a bit infantile, but I suppose Zip or Zippo is hardly much better.
I imagine a Zipporah as being very determined and stubborn, but I'm almost positive that I'm being influenced by the character of Zipporah on The Prince of Egypt with that (although that was Tzipporah).
