It's fine. I live in Germany right now and Pia is quite common for girls born in the 90s. Pronounced PEE-a.
I dislike the PEE sound that also bothers me in Penelope. But it is still fine overall. I like it on someone else.
It feels more grown up and serious than Mia.
I like it better than many other -ia names.
