I find Sylvanus pleasant and nerdy, but it's only usable as a name for a fictional character.
I don't find it usable in real life because of... well, the ending; it's a shame because it's a nice name. :(
However, there is Sylvan, which is a modern variant and I like it more. This one is definitely usable and could fit in with Aidans, Matthews and Xanders.
