I've encountered it IRL. I thought it was cool/fun...I'd probably feel similarly if I met someone named Fuchsia...or it was about the level of pleasantly surprising as when I met a
Gardenia. I'd agree it's similar to
Ebony stylewise but quirkier or less dated (since it's not been popular); I like
Ebony (and
Hazel,
Willow,
Holly,
Juniper,
Rowan,
Cherry,
Apple,
Maple,
Linden) too FYI.
