I think Lemuel sounds good and as a family name it would be a perfect mn, maybe even a good fn.
But personally I just picture an animal looking like a guinea pig or a hamster, b/c I think of a lemming.
I also think of Lemuel Gulliver (gullible) in "Gulliver's Travels".
