I think it's a nice strong name. I'd imagine a Roberta to be outspoken and witty, but I can also imagine her to be kind. I also picture a Roberta to have red hair.
I don't think I know any Robertas. I'm not sure how you're pronouncing it... so the middle syllable sounds like the word "bear?" I've never heard it that way. I say rə-BUR-tə.
