This is my little sister Leah's middle name. ♥
And no, I do not think it is too long to be used on it's own. And no, I wouldn't shorten it if I preferred it without a nickname.
And I know a girl named Lexi who is indeed tortured with the nickname "Sexy Lexi". And yes, Alex is avoidable. Chill. Just introduce the kid as Alexandria and that's what they'll call her. And besides, she might WANT to be an Alex when she gets older, and when she decides, you'll have to live with it.
My favorite is Alex or Lexi.
