I think it's fine. I went to school with a Jamie (at a time when that name was definitely more popular for girls) and it worked. "Jamie" is cute anyway, and I think it sounds less dated on a boy than on a girl. I could easily see a male Jamie as being young (like 8 years old maybe), but a female Jamie I'd assume was at least 20.
