Raymond - This is a favorite of mine. I don't understand why it comes off as so unhip to many people. Television, maybe? Psh. It's a good old name, and I think it sounds much more manly and friendly than
Edmund or
Desmond. Also,
Ray!
Alastair - As a Scottish name it's good. (For me personally, though - I feel like it comes off pretentious in a way, if it were the name of an American. Since this spelling doesn't match American English pronunciation, it makes it a little too in-your-face Scottish for an American.)
Harvey &
Sergei tie. I think
Sergei is a good name within its main usage, like
Alastair, but if one is borrowing it, it misses the mark.
Harvey is a decent old name, seems very manly, however I get a slightly stuffy retro vibe, like with
Billy or
Jim.
Wendell seems like a cool name. I just think it's too nerdy sounding in real life.
Mortimer is almost a joke to me. I guess I can see how
Mort would be kinda cool, though, if it were someone's actual name. I would just not be the one to give a guy the name.
