If you don't mind the word, I like "Ran" for Ransom. I actually had a character once nicknamed Ran, and I had to come up with a full name for it. I ended up going with Ranwin (I couldn't use Ransom because the character was based off C.S. Lweis's Ransom :P) Anyway, Ra or Rans could work too.
Would Imman or Manuel work for Immanuel?
