I don't see Cindy that way. To me, it's just dated and could eventually have vintage charm, but that won't happen for a while yet, 30-40 years, if it does. I must say that I think it should only be a nickname for Cynthia, and while I like Cynthia, I don't care for Cindy. I suppose one reason that I can't think of Cindy as having vintage charm yet is that I'm middle-aged and it was a popular name in my age group---in fact, I had a good friend in high school named Cynthia nn Cindy.
