I feel like the rise of the name '
Scottie' makes sense. Anecdotally, there are a lot of Gen Xers and millennials (and likely Gen Z as well) named
Scott and maybe they're looking for a feminine form of
Scott as an honouring name and came up with '
Scottie'? Maybe they want to honour Scottish heritage? Also there's a character nicknamed "
Scotty" in
Star Trek as well? I don't really know how influential that last one is but yeah, just my thoughts.
