Never heard this as a name, but it is a common word in Bengali meaning benevolence, as in when someone funds something, one would acknowledge it by saying that the thing was possible by his "saujanya". The -ow- is reflecting a typical Bengali pronounciation, though in Bengali, the -ny- sounds like -nn- in this context.
The origin of the word is Sanskrit: it is a noun denoting the quality of sujana, and means goodness, kindness, friendliness, etc. sujana itself comes from the prefix su- meaning good and jana (from jan, cognate with the root of genesis) meaning that which is born, creature, but especially man.
