I finally found something .. although it's not for certain.
Ascela might be related to Ascelina:
Acelina (also Acelina, Acelin, Ascelin, Ascelina) derived from Old French A(s)celine, derived from Germanic Azilin, derived from Azo
Germanic Azo a form of Adal- "noble"
Or, (less likely I think) it might be related to the name of the star Ascella - from "axilla" = armpit (it's the "armpit" of the archer figure in the constellation Sagitarrius).
