You can change your "posting name" in your account settings. Usernames are typically permanent.
Hi there! As far as I know, there are two options to change your username. First, you can contact Mike C for the change of your username. Second, you can change it directly from your profile, in the Account section. (FYI I've changed my username once, and I picked the second option ^_^)

There are some situations* in which you can change your username via your profile, but this is normally not possible.
* a) if you signed up via Google or Facebook, you can change your username from the default one that Google/Facebook suggested for you; b) if you have a pre-2022 username that includes a space, you can change it in order to eliminate the space
